New Umbrella Chronicles media released

Wii News | The scent of decaying flesh grows stronger.
At the recent Gamer's Day event in London, Capcom have released 10 brand new screens for their upcoming light-gun title, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

In the game, players will relive their journeys from Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3. Umbrella Chronicles will also feature new locations that will elaborate further on the back story of the Umbrella Corporation as well as feature a 2 player co-op mode and support the upcoming Wii Zapper peripheral.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is currently expected to release in Australia on December 13th. We'll report back when new details become available. In the meantime, screens can be viewed by clicking here.

Wow. "In the game, players will relive their journeys from Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3."

That is frikn awesome. For someone like me who hasn't played much of the earlier ones that is tops.

but its from on rails shooter perspective, I would rather see a Wii port/remake of all 3 games
After playing RE4 I want to play the other 4 if not just for the story

Man, the dialogue and voice acting is horrible, you'll think Capcom could at least improved them over the years. But the nostalgia is much welcomed.

I for one cant wait.

On Rails works for me: I couldn't go back to the pregnent cow technique. Puddingfork, we've had enough of these games (on GC and before) for a straight port. On rails with exploritory freedom through the best bits is a great idea for nostalgic or a recap.

For someone like me who's been obsessed with the series since the first game....this is like a dream come true.

I read you can pickup item cards which give backstory and gameography on all the items that have appeared in all the games...e.g. a crank card, a beretta 9mm card etc. This imo is essential for any resident evil fanatic.

Well seeing as 0 is a gamecube exclusive and the first game has already been remade for it the only ones left to remake are 2 and 3. There wouldn't be many differences from the Wii remake and the gamecube remake imo, well not enough to warrant another remake.....not yet anyways. Trust me I want to see a remake of part 2 and 3 more than anyone but I would rather it be remade on a more powerful console.

If you want the other 4 you can get them all on gamecube and 2 of those (0 and remake) are fairly new so they look awesome (infact they look better than 4 but it's only because backgrounds are pre-rendered). Basically every Resident Evil (except for part 1 but that's available as remake which is better anyways) is available on the Gamcube and if you have a Wii there is no excuse cuz you're able to play them all.

Yeah but I just loved the Wii controls for RE4 a lot
As for getting the other 4 on GameCube, on say EBay how much should I be paying and would you recommend it?

Quite honestly every game except for part 4 would suck with the wiimote.

Depends on if you want them brand new or not. I always buy brand new but that doesn't really mean jack to someone else. Anyways here's some I found (all new and all PAL):

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil Remake

Sorry couldn't find anything but the player's choice for Resident Evil 0 brand new PAL. Also those prices are a bit expensive so I suggest you do some alternate searches in other PAL countries (Europe stuff goes for around 1/2 price brand new), I thought i'd just list the aussie stuff to give you an idea. Honestly you're asking the wrong person what i'd pay cuz being a Resident Evil nut money is no object. I'd suggest not paying more than about $60 each brand new. Honestly I don't know....those games are priceless for me. If you're getting 2nd hand you can get them all for about $20-$30 each.

Well I got enough to amuse me for now on (MP3, LoZPH and HL2)
I might have to resort to getting those other 4 RE games the same way I got MP3 icon_wink.gif

The cool thing about Umbrella Chronicles is that you'll go through all the major points in the classic RE games (except 2, though since 2 and 3 both take place in the same time, I guess thats why 2 isnt included) from a new perspective (on rails shooting action). And then you get to see what happened to Umbrella, and from the looks of it Wesker has a pretty big role in this game icon_smile.gif

Should be good, looking forward to this icon_biggrin.gif

What if the remake was done from the RE4 perspective? Then it would be pretty sweet with the Wiimote, and it would look bloody ace too (although not as good as Zero or REmake I suspect).
