Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel hits Australia

Wii News | Gamers flashing blue for preview.
Nintendo Wii owners who have their console internet-enabled will notice the blue flashing light of their disk drive today, signaling the arrival of the Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Preview Channel.

The Preview Channel is the first of its kind for the Wii, featuring streamed videos of Corruption in action. The channel is free, using up 100 blocks of memory and, in contrast to the US release, comes with six preview videos immediately available. The videos are entitled 'Corruption', 'Aurora', 'Ped Suit', 'Valhalla', 'Dark Samus', 'Meta Ridley' and a seventh, unreleased section displaying the date, '17.10.2007' when highlighted.

The Australian release of the channel arrives over two months after the US version, though it shares a similar time-frame with the release of the complete game. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is scheduled for an Australian release on November 8th.

Who else was hoping for a playable demo.

I guess that's something else XBL has spoiled me for.

I was more annoyed at the fact that I download this channel, take up a fair chunk of the internal storage, and then find out that it's only streaming the videos!

If I want to watch them more than once, but at different times, then I have to waste my stupidly small/expense download limit (stupid satellite...) to download them again.

Why not just give us some links to watch them on the computer?

Don't get me wrong, I think the idea is alright, it's just the implementation that is leaving me pissed (which is more to do with my personal circumstances than anything else).

sp once the game comes out and has been out for ages, this channel will remain and there will be no new previews or additions to it?

it doesn't sound like much of a download to me, is it a compulsory download with the update or do you go to the online store?

It is listed under the Wii Software section of the store, Nihil - and is a little over 100 blocks in size.

Hardly worth it IMO, except for the neat Meta Ridley teaser.

This Metroid thing is just going to be a one off, because Nintendo announced a channel that provides trailers etc. It's going in the same channel as the DS demos.

Meh, I've already watched them before. In fact i'm looking at it on my computer right now.

Dang, I have an NTSC Wii so I got this channel ages ago, didn't think it would take so long to get it to Aus though >_>
