Fatal Frame/Project Zero heading to Wii

Wii News | Grasshopper Manufacture to lend Tecmo a development hand.
Tecmo's survival horror series Fatal Frame (known as Project Zero in PAL territories) will be seeing a new home on Wii, courtesy of Grasshopper Manufacture, 1UP reports.

Confirmed in a Tokyo Game Show interview with series producer Kikuchi Keisuke, Grasshopper Manufacture will be shifting its focus to the next installment in the ongoing Camera Obscura saga once work wraps up on Goichi Suda's No More Heroes, also for Wii.

Grasshopper Manufacture, already known for its outlandish game designs and mechanics, has experience in the field of camera-related horror gameplay, with 2004's obscure Michigan: Report from Hell for PlayStation 2.

In the past, the Fatal Frame/Project Zero series has rivaled the Silent Hill series for pure disturbing fun. Dormant since 2005's Fatal Frame III: The Tormented for PS2, the Wii exclusivity of the next installment can only mean multiple motion-sensitive possibilities for Camera Obscura control.

Wii exclusive oh well. I reckon the horror atmosphere would be better handled better with better visuals and sound than unique controls. icon_confused.gif

Fatal Frame for me is like the only scary thing I've really played. RE and SH are fun but neither seriously haunt you like Fatal Frame icon_wink.gif

Fatal frame never had ground breaking graphics and it is one of the scariest games out there. Camera control with the wiimote seems like a perfect fit. I can only imagine having your pointer act as a flashlight around a dark house. I'd take that kind of imersion over good graphics anyday.

I rather have both. Its all good to have that kinda imersion in horror without a great atmosphere it destroys it. Put the wii remote with PS3/360 you got it.

I never get how using the Wii-mote is more immersive?! icon_sad.gif

heh, try Clive Barker's Undying.

If you can't find it, just keep an eye open for Jericho when it gets released. icon_wink.gif

Awesome, definatly a game suited to the Wii. Why do I get the feeling that it will be graphically worse than Project Zero on Xbox though...

Awesome more Wii love from Suda. I thought it was Michigan at first, they are quite similar. I like Michigan more.

As long as they keep the graphical fidelity of the previous games, it should suffice. They were pretty damn creepy.
