Project H.A.M.M.E.R formally cancelled

Wii News | D.A.M.N.
Back in May, we learnt that Nintendo's promising Project H.A.M.M.E.R game had been 'put on hold'.

Months later, Famitsu magazine is reporting that the project has officially been canned, which is quite disappointing. The game was being developed by NST who have worked on titles such as 1080 Avalanche and Wave Race: Blue Storm. With the Wii Fit balance board due out early next year, we wouldn't be surprised if the team was working on an update to one of those franchises, as usual we'll let you know once we have an idea what they're up too.

D.A.M.N. indeed icon_sad.gif. Was looking forward to seeing more of this one. At least they will probably be working on another 1080 or Wave Race but I would have preffered a new series to another sequel.

Disaster still better be on track.

One of the titles I was looking forward to hearing more about, a pity, as the second generation of first party Wii titles was sure to be something special.

High hopes for Disaster:DoC too, though not having heard any new information for quite a while I'm somewhat worried.

Actually, from what I heard, Disaster:DoC was nearing it's final stages of development.

I was always curious of Project Hammer. I hadn't made my mind up about the game as it seemed... different. Nintendo, give your hardcore audiance some love please.

More mature titles gone? Sigh. Come on ESRB, don't ban Manhunt 2, please. It'll be the clincher for my re-buying a Wii (sold it after being thoroughly unimpressed by the opening 6 months).

I agree...

As much as Im enjoying RE4 (First time playing), I don't see whats going to happen after I complete the game. Maybe a VC run-down ,but thats a bit sad.
