LGC 07: Best of the show shortlist revealed

Wii News | It's only just begun and we're already picking winners.

The eleven member jury of "experts" for the Best of GC awards has announced the finalists for ten categories. The award ceremony will take place at the Leipziger press conference room on the 24th of August. We're quite surprised the nominations have already been revealed with the expo only just beginning today but as the nominations seem quite spot on we're done complaining. The full list of nominations for the "Best of GC awards" are as follows.

Hmmm. I have been leaning towards FIFA 08 over Pro Evo for the team availability, more specifically, the lack of the English Premier league in Pro Evo. The fact that this is registering as a "contender" is a major surprise. Can there be any light shead on its nomination?

Hehe. MGS4 could likely be the best game of all time and SingStar is in the category!

Hmmmm ... Only one of the 360 nominees is an exclusive, Eternal Sonata. Only one of the PS3 nominees isn't, Pro Evo Soccer.

I wonder if this indicates some strong PS3 exclusives finally starting to emerge, or just that the PS3 versions of these games aren't so great?

Oh well, here's hoping Halo 3 and Bio Shock are good enough to keep me going... oh and GTA 4.
