LGC 07: A New Beginning revealed

Wii News | Coming to the Wii, DS and PC.
German publisher Daedalic Entertainment has revealed its first internally developed project and it is titled A New Beginning. It's an interactive adventure game which focuses on the effects of global warming - we're sure Al Gore would approve.

Players will take control of two protagonists and explore their backgrounds. In total there are more than thirty characters in the game, and every part of the game has been animated by hand. Like all adventure titles you'll need to solve challenging puzzles and no doubt there will be a lot of clicking to be done as well.

First images of the game can be found in our media panel. A New Beginning is set for release in 2008 on the Wii, DS and PC.

This was what the Wii's pointer, and DS's stylus were made for!

Not that long ago all the great games were adventure games: King's Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Escape from Monkey Island, Day of the Tenticle, Grim Fandango, and I'm sure the list could go on.

It's about time the great age of adventure games was resurrected on the carcuses of bland, unimaginitive, derivitive FPSs!

^And Indy!

Wii and DS are bringing sexy (adventure) back. But PC could've still done it. I didn’t really like Another Code, but I liked Hotel Dusk. I know SUDA is bringing the Silver Case games back to DS as well. But the subject of Global warming... yawno.

I think Retro was commenting more on the use of Global Warming in the plot than the style of game. To be honest, I'm a little worried about how it will be used in the story - Global Warming being such a 'buzzword' at the moment, and a vastly misunderstood topic in general. Still, that comment was unnecessary.

sorry, misunderstanding. I thought the 'hippie' remark was aimed at the adventure game bit (in hindsight, i don't know why).
