LEGO Indiana Jones announced

Wii News | Lego boulder included.
LucasArts have revealed at Comic-Con 2007 in San Diego that they'll be publishing yet another LEGO game from Traveller's Tales. This time though, instead of wielding a lightsabre, players can look forward to cracking a whip in LEGO Indiana Jones: The Videogame.

At this stage all that's known about the game is that it will follow the first three Indiana Jones films and while it has yet to be confirmed, we're willing to bet it will be released on the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Currently, Traveller's Tales are working on LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga which is due out in September this year and LEGO Batman: The Videogame which is expected to release next year. We'll report back once more information becomes available.

Is it just me but are they going just a little to far with the whole Lego games franchise, I mean so far they have all been good but they are pushing out way to many far to quickly I say.

^ i was thinking something similar, but i suppose i'll wait to see what they do with Lego Batman before i decide whether i think Indy is something they should be doing.

i'm really hoping that they aren't too samey i guess.

It was ok with Star Wars since there were so many other Star Wars games around. But I'd much rather have a good normal Indy game. That last one had some fantastic bits and I enjoyed it a lot, but was a buggy mess.

Well considering we are entering the later half of the year Id think they will opt for
a more appropriate title in Lego08, although in fairness if these games come out as
half as much fun as lego star wars then we are all WINNARS

Meh, I wouldn't object to that! icon_lol.gif It would be a nice change from Star Wars anyway, I've had more than enough of that. Indiana Jones should be something a little different, though of course I can see some elements remaining the same.

LEGO Batman: The VideoGame and LEGO Indiana Jones: The VideoGame will be really, really cool!! I can't wait!! The Complete Saga I'm definately getting!!
However, for the ideas of those such as LEGO 007, now that would suck, LEGO Transformers would be really cool though, lol, and the next one to be announced will be LEGO Harry Potter or LEGO Spider-Man...

That's pretty interesting, but I say hats off to Tristan, he actually predicted this exact announcement almost a year ago! Kind of scary.. icon_smile.gif I think I'll pay more attention to his predictions from now on. What's your feeling on next week's lotto numbers? It's OK, you can tell me..

but have you actually played them yet?
because whinging about anything without having experienced it firsthand is never cool.

what's more, is there anything you don't whinge about? i mean, it's not exactly news when you whinge about something. icon_razz.gif

I'm the voice of all the whingers out there that are either too lazy or too intimidated too whinge.Unlike pack followers, when something sux, i'll let everyone know, sometimes 2-3 times, regardless of whether or not it's goes against the grain.

Then again, sometimes i whinge about stuff that everyone is just itching to whinge about, like admiester.

So, Admeister, shutup.

For anyone interested, a trailer for the game can be found here. Looks to keep up the humour of the current Lego games by Tt, so that's something.

The only incentive any of the LEGO titles possess for me is at a budget price. I just don't rate their longetivity. As far as i am concerned, we buy next-gen for the next-gen experience (graphics, audio, the glitz and the glamour for the most part). The lego games for me play just as well on my PS2, leave them there.

i notice you still conveniently side-stepped the question of whether you actually played Lego SW or not...

i've no issues if you did try it, and didn't like it, or if you just outright don't like Star Wars, i can also understand not 'getting' it, but whinging for the sake of whinging is not on.

actually, the "liking Star Wars" bit is probably a big issue with LSW, as there are a great many jokes throughout the game that mightn't be got otherwise. i'm hoping the same will be true of Lego Batman and, now, Lego IJ.

i also agree with the doag, if LSW was a full-priced title, i don't think i'd have enjoyed anywhere near as much, but for $40, you can't really go wrong. they were also heaps of fun co-op, in a period where co-op games were almost non-existent, though they've received somewhat of a resurgence recently.

Oh, i thought it was more a rhetorical question, i thought the main point of your post was to highlight how much i whinge, rather then if i had actually played the game or not.

No, i haven't played it, but........for the point i'm making, why should i need too? It's the whole concept. Why can't they simply make the game a star wars/indy whatever themed game and just leave it be.Why make the characters, the landscape, everything about the game be lego?Where are the pros to being lego, besides the 'oh cool, it's lego' first time reaction factor?Making a game based on lego severely limits the creative freedom the whole team has when making the game. Not only do you restrict the games graphics immensely(low poly characters with poor texturing with low poly settings with poor texturing) but it will start to get a bit samey, a bit old hat.Running around as a lego skywalker doing lego things, will, if you blur your eyes just slightly, look just like lego indy doing lego things.

It's retarded. It's a video game fad.'Oh, we've milked the lego thing, let's go and redo movie franchises, but mix it with transformers this time, and milk the **** out of that too.Oh wait, too late.

Movie franchise+lego=success? When the **** did that happen?I'd rather movie franchise+faithful recreation of movie+great graphics+great gameplay+all that other crap that makes a good game=success. It's a fad, i don't like fads, i'm quite the anti-fad.But whatever, ride your razor scooters and play your <insert movie name here> LEGO game.

Btw, i don't whinge without good reason, i whinge, ok, i'll give you that, but i'm no whingy bitch.

While I see your point, I believe that one of the big reasons behind why these games are so popular is the humor. There's just something very entertaining/amusing about watching a Lego version of one of your favourite movie characters walking around and imitating the "real" thing. The way that Lego moves can also be quite funny. It's kind of tricky to explain. I agree that it's just a fad, but it's certainly one with reason, imo.
