UK Mario Party 8 recalled

Wii News | Why are we waiting ...
Mario Party's always been a dangerous game - annoying your significant other, sibling, or friends always ran the risk of getting a controller up the nose. Sideways, even.

However, the stakes have now been stepped up significantly. Nintendo Europe has made a public service announcement, stating that the UK version of Mario Party 8 has now been recalled. The specific issue? "A small number of games contain the wrong version of the disk due to an assembly error."

Apparently someone used the wrong build when they mastered the disk. In the industry, that's know in technical terms as a, "you in it deep, boy" issue. Someone's job isn't looking too healthy right about now ...

So, from the looks of it, if you're in the UK, you might be having to wait a while longer yet before you get your game on with Mario Party for the Wii. Still, it's not all bad news - imagine the danger of playing the wrong build! We can only thank Nintendo for saving us from this ghastly fate.

The faulty copy might be a rare collector's item.

Turns out to be the same reason Mind Quiz or whatever it was was also recalled:

Magikoopa reportedly says an offensive word:

seriously just outlaw the word now, it seems to cause havoc among those who find offense reading. Better yet, force them to make the game playable to the blind because were being biased by only creating these games for those who can see, and don't forget the children who don't have hands. now thats just mean nintendo.

Does it really matter? Are you offended? Not like the game has a bug and it could become collectable.

spas·tic
adj.
1) Of, relating to, or characterized by spasms: a spastic colon; a spastic form of cerebral palsy.
2) Affected by spastic paralysis.
3) Slang: Clumsy or inept

clearly Magikoopa refers to the last definition. It is not even that offensive, read it in context please (to those that do find it insulting). Sorry Magikoopa, know that we at PALGN understand you.
Maybe it's offensive to some because of a possible connection made to the prior entries.

does that mean that we cant say 'arouse' in a game anymore, despite the fact that it means 'to awaken' or 'to stir to action' since it can also have sexual connotations, therefore a plausible bumping up of the classification of the game in which it is contained? And this isn't reductio ad absurdum, im being more serious.

I can understand why some people would take offence at it but people tend to say far worse as 'slang' now. I'm sure it wouldn't have been an issue if there wasn't the MindQuiz debacle recently.

Some people need to get a grip. It's not offensive it's just a poke-fun-at kind of work. If the game swore at you a called you that discriminates against race or religion then we go crazy but until then I'm gonna kept on chillin and playin

Bump, but just noticed in my game, he "turns this train erratic".
