Super Paper Mario dated for Australia

Wii News | September the....
A few weeks ago Nintendo Australia revealed that Super Paper Mario had a rough release date of September. After debuting in North America in April, PAL gamers have already been waiting for the game for awhile now, but the wait does seem a little closer today, with Nintendo revealing on their official site that Super Paper Mario will come out on September the 20th in Australia.

The reason Super Paper Mario took so long to make it to PAL regions is that there is a lot of text in the game that needs to be converted to several languages for European regions. It's a tough reality that, even though Australians only need English text, we need to wait until games have been localised into several languages.

Tempting, but I don't think this tips the Wii into the purchase list.

I want a date for the price drop it should of started with... icon_razz.gif

It gets released the day before my birthday! icon_lol.gif Could make a nice birthday present for myself. Anyway, great to finally have a release date, the fact that they have to translate it into so many languages really sucks though. Why can' they just release a straight English language version early on, and then release a muti language version later? The majority of Australian only need the English version after all.

Nope, not a good enough answer. Not only because, as mentioned, we don't need these extra languages, but because regardless, they could translate during development or when its being translated from Japanese to English.

If Nintendo are going to insist on not being region free then they need to step up their game on ALL titles, not just some. They can do it with Zelda, so why can't they do it with Super Paper Mario? They better do it with the rest of the upcoming titles.

Defiantly going to be purchasing this one.

As I know BigW are going to have another toy sale & similar deal on the Wii with a free game, I imagine that this would be the one. So, $388 plus this is pretty good icon_wink.gif

At least we got Resident Evil 4 pretty close to the US, but I suppose the translations were already done on that. About 2 years ago...

Shoddy job they did, not even translating the Ganado voices from Spanish to Australian...

Wasn't Trauma Center a release title in the States? Just how much translation do they need?

How about Phoenix Wright number ONE. Full English release in the States decades before an Australian release.

Viva Wii, GCN and NDS piracy for all your (current) Nintendo games!

They need to make a PAL English region. No need for all of us to wait just because some damn Euros can't read English ;(

as for the translations i am not ever happy, it takes too long and it shouldnt. And as stated why can we not get the English version before the rest of the PAL regions get there translated games? if we are to just wait for them, if thats the only thing, then we shouldnt have to and get them released at the same time as USA.

Yeah. Many European countries get English releases anyway. Publishers only translate games into the major languages. If you are in a country with a language other than French, German, Italian or Spanish, then you are going to see an English version on the shelves anyway.

Well at least we get the good, US Boxart, and not the tacky Euro one. That's probably the only brightside, other than that we actually get a release in PAL regions.

A long 74 days till we can get our hands on it.

Our box art is actually a more developed version of the US one, as it has additional graphic elements added, white cut-out border around Mario with a drop shadow etc.

About time, thats all im going to say. At least Vook can calm down finally

Yeah... entirely uninterested in this now. I'll change my tune when I stroll into a shop and its actually on the shelf, but until then? Over it.

It's a tough reality that the second a Wii Freeloader comes out, NoAu's gonna see a software sales drop [from me]. See, that cuts both ways!

Heh, there's a cultural problem with the Spanish that kept freaking me out all game. The expression "cogedlo", which means "sieze him" or "grasp him" in Spain, refers to an - ahem! - more intimate form of "grasping" in the Latin American Spanish I speak.

...i.e. I spent all of the castle level listening to cultists mutter "**** him. **** him!" behind my back!

Sweet. At least we can now count the days. 'bout frickin' time!
