Wii dominating home console sales in Japan
Wii News | Outselling PS3 by more then six to one in June.

While it won't be news to anyone who follows sales charts around the world, US news site Reuters has reported on the Japanese sales of home consoles as reported by Japanese tracking firm Enterbrain. In the month of June, Enterbrain reports that Nintendo sold 270,974 Wii machines, far above the 41,628 PS3s sold by Sony and the 17,616 Xbox 360s sold by Microsoft. Japan's other tracking firm, Media Create, has the lifetime totals of each machine (to the 24th of June) at 2,800,576 for Wii, 938,575 for PS3 and 380,131 for the Xbox 360.
The Wii is also leading the pack in software sales, having sold over 6.3 million games since launch, compared to 1.3 million PS3 games for Sony and 1.37 million for Microsoft (via collated Japanese top 50 data on neogaf.com).
Xbox 360 sales were boosted in June by the release of Namco's Trusty Bell (to be re-named Eternal Sonata in the west), while sales of the Wii and PS3 were steady over the previous month, despite the high profile releases of Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. In June the Wii remained supply constrained and essentially sold out, as it has been since launch.
