Ubisoft confirm, then deny Red Steel 2

Wii News | On again, off again.
After several months of speculation, word has reached the internet that Ubisoft officially announced Red Steel 2 at an event in Cannes. Apparently details emerged that the sword fighting controls had been reworked to be a lot smoother than in its Wii launch title predecessor, Red Steel. Various sources also hinted that online play was promised. As quick as the news spred however, Ubisoft were quick to deny the claims.

Considering the first Red Steel remains to be one of the Wii's top selling games and with E3 on fast approach, it's almost certain we'll be hearing more on Red Steel 2 shortly, regardless if it's a rumour or announcement.

It's just a matter of time really. Maybe they'll anounce it around E3 time?

the controls were a bit clunky but you do get used to them, but other games were smooth right from the start (eledees) that sort of detracted from the red steel experience for me but if red steel 2 has good controlls and i think it would it would be awesome

It will be online too. Since there was a job offer that needed online skills, for this game.

Hopefully the graphics dont resemble N64 models in some areas now. Overall Red steel coulda been a good game, lets hope red steel 2 does the same.

I actually liked Red Steel. The gun play was fantastic, but it was the sword nonsense that threw me off. I never actually finished the game thanks to that.

I'd have kept the game had there been online multiplayer support. I had the most fun with the game deathmatching with my bro. But thanks to Nintendo's stubbornness, I did a quick 180 and handed it right back to EB.

Refine the gun control, fix the sword fighting mechanics (or just scrap em altogether) and enable online multiplayer and baby, we got a stew going.
