Wii sells 100,000 consoles in Australia

Wii News | Super Paper Mario release month confirmed.
Nintendo of Australia has sent out a press release which confirms that 100,000 Wii consoles have been sold in Australia. This officially makes the Wii the fastest selling home console to reach 100,000.

“We are pleased that Wii has achieved this benchmark, but we are ecstatic that it attained this whilst also reaching new audiences and expanding the scope of our entire industry” explains Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We promised we would bring gaming to the masses, I think this is proof that we are heading in the right direction”.

Nintendo also confirmed Super Paper Mario will be hitting the Wii in September, as well as PANGYA! Golf. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition will be out on July the 5th and Mario Paty 8 will be out on July the 19th.

Well done to the Wii's success. I'm sure this time next year there will be more games for people to buy. It's been abit slow like the DS. But the DS has soild collection now.

Are you people just jealous that Nintendo is beating the compeition at the moment?

This thread is about Nintendo and their success, so all you Sony/Microsoft or Anti-Nintendo people go somewhere that actually relates to your company instead of trashing what we've got.

On topic: Thats great news, however I hope it continues on for its entire life-time, there is still plenty of room for improvement regarding the Wii.

I'm not actually excited for Super Paper Mario, I know a lot of people are, but it's not the game that will quench my thirst. I was hoping for MH2, the impressions for it are really great (for Wii) and it actually uses the remote properly,(and i'm bit of a sicko) but it's been delayed. There really isn't much, apart from a select few, til Q4 for PAL releases for me.

^ Actually the last game released on it was Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer which was yesterday or the day before.

Also to my knowledge there are around 32 games on the Wii and 28 on the Ps3 and on the Ps3 10 of those break the 80% and over mark whereas on the Wii only 5 games break it.
What about the other end of the scale?

Does the Wii have any games that compare to Fantastic Four (in critical reception that is)?
