Virtual Console updated

Wii News | Is that something on your foot?
Well it's Friday. Aside from counting down to 5pm, we've also been taking a snoop around the Virtual Console to see what's been added and today there are three new Sega Megadrive titles; all time classic side scrolling beat-em-up Streets of Rage 2, odd platformer Kid Chameleon and Toe Jam and Earl: Panic on Funkatron, the platforming sequel to the original top-down Toe Jam and Earl. Europe also receives the TurboGrafx title World Sports Competition, a Track & Field style game where you compete in various Olimpic Sports.

All three Megadrive titles are available for 800 points, and the TurboGrafx game is 600 points.

I've read many times that Streets of Rage 2 is the ultimate in street brawlers so I will pick this up for sure having never played it.

Still, where is megaman!

Hey all,

I'm a huge fan of the Streets of Rage series. Always loved the side scrolling beat them ups.

Some clever chap decided to mix all three games into one and with remixed levels, the end result is a freeware download game that has 7 fighters and 20 something stages.

Trust me, this is one of the sweetest fan games in a long long time.

Yep SOR2 is the best in the series.

In my opinion, the title of best old school brawler goes to Rivercity Ransom.

Here's a lovable tribute to RCR courtesy of Seanbaby. If this game ends up on Virtual Console, I will be complete.

It was called Street Gangs over here.

Mega64 also did a pretty cool parody of it.
