FIFA 08 announced

Wii News | Sun sets.
Did you know a new FIFA title was coming? Oh right, you did. Well maybe you could tell your Nanna. She knows too? Blimey.

Well, EA has officially announced FIFA 08 is in development at EA Canada and is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, PC and for the first time, PlayStation 3 and the Wii. Two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho has revealed many of the stars who will feature on the cover for the game have been motion captured, this includes Klose, Ramos, Barnetta, and Ivanschitz.

"We are proud to call some of the world's best football athletes our partners. The access, guidance and insight they give us means that FIFA 08 will create a next-gen experience that not only looks authentic, but that captures the emotion, finesse and beauty of the game," said Joe Booth, senior producer for FIFA 08.

I don't know, Fifa07 was pretty good and it looks amazing (for a ps2). Hope they don't try and make the wii version motion cotrolled. some things are better left alone.

A slightly late announcement.. I was getting worried they wouldn't release a version this year.

I'm foreseeing ankle bracelets where you strap the Remote to your kicking foot, and the nunchuck to your other foot, then run on the spot trying to keep control of an imaginary ball, before kicking it through a goal...or just tripping over the nunchuck cord and landing face first on the corner of your entertainment unit.

EA apparently made a brilliant motion-controlled Madden (I didn't buy it, I hate Gridiron), perhaps they can pull it off here too.

^the thing that worked about madden is that you hold the ball in your hand in gridiron and so throwing a ball is just natural. It worked brilliantly, i love madden on the wii. I just don't see how it can be transfered to soccer without doing what A13x said (which i have fears of). It could be good with rare motion control, like saving a penalty or whatever. I hope they at least give you the option to turn it off.
