New Need for Speed teaser released

Wii News | Can you guess what platforms it will be on?
We'd probably guess the next Need for Speed title will be coming to every platform under the sun, but EA has sent through a teaser trailer which provides a first look at the next edition of Need for Speed.

We've uploaded the trailer for your viewing needs and invite speculation in the comments section. The Need for Speed franchise is a huge behemoth for EA, the Need for Speed titles are consistently in the top best selling games for the year and whilst the trailer doesn't provide too much information on the next game we're pretty sure races will take place in the day time now.

The trailer is available in Quicktime format and goes for just over thirty seconds. It is just under 7MB in size.

Quick Time 6.59MB

Other than the GBA, mobile, DS, PSP, PS2, 360, Wii, PS3, PC? Nope.

But yeah I lost interst in NFS after Underground. I know Underground marked the series first deviation from its roots, but it still played quite well imo. icon_smile.gif

I hope its good as i didnt bother buying carbon for the ps3 as i wonted to wait for a new game instead of playing a old one.

NeedforBurnout?

Looks interesting though. Not that I'd ever complain about a video with an FD in it.

Well looking at it, the car seems to be destructible, so what I am hoping is that we are going to get a more realistic racer. Well thats what I am hoping. I'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't want that. But this is what I have always wanted. A NFS, where it is more realistic. I remembered playing NFS: Porsche Unleashed (correct title) and that I think was the most realistic NFS game I played!

I thought Most Wanted was relatively decent on the PSP. Underground 2 was a pretty damn impressive game too at the time on the handheld. I'd say NFS now is pretty average all-round, and that includes whatever console you prefer.

Looks like they're once again heading back to the destructable cars. It's about time! It was inexplicable how the brilliant (for the time) damage-modelling disappeared after Porsche Unleashed (or Porsche 2000).

IMO, The NFS series kinda lost its way after NFS High Stakes launched in 1999. I really liked Porsche Unleashed, but it just wasn't an NFS title in the truest form of the game.

Hopefully they'll start to work on the tracks again. The whole "gigantic city" thing from NFS Underground onwards may seem cool, but it just means that all the tracks end up feeling almost exactly the same because of the theming. Bring back themed tracks from different locales!

Groan at franchise having releases every single year... luckily for me in a sense that I haven't really played a NFS game since 2 basically, so I can somewhat anticipate this game arriving, and the graphics do look pretty nice.
