Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 announced

Wii News | Apparantly it's the Ultimate Chapter, what about the other ones?
Atari has surprised absolutely nobody today by announcing via a press release that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is currently in development at Namco Bandai games. The game is being developed for the PlayStation 2 and the Wii.

Tenkaichi 3 features more than 150 playable characters, enhanced fighting techniques and refined effects. There will also be over 20 stages in the game and these will take place in either the daytime or in the evening. An improved control system for the Wii will allow players to mimic signature moves and execute energy attacks.

"Atari is incredibly excited to offer the ultimate chapter in the Budokai Tenkaichi series with over 20 new characters that have never been seen in any other DBZ video games such as Nail, King Cold and King Vegeta and battle stages that fans will love," said Emily Anadu, Senior Product Manager, Atari, Inc. "Each year, the developers refine the game to bring fans closer to feeling like they are actually playing the show."

I can't possibly see what they could add that would make me pick this up, considering I already have BT2 on the Wii.

^ You have a fair point there. Except for more characters, they haven't got much. While I'm very happy to see this news, they're going to have to do a lot of "refining" to make most gamers want to pick up this sequel.

Looks like DBZ still isn't moving onto the HD consoles yet (or console, if a DBZ game came out on the 360, it would be a first since no DBZ games have ever been released on a Microsoft console).

Though it hardly counts, there was DBZ Sagas. But it was abysmal

As has been mentioned, there really isn't that much that can be added and it really seems like its just been milked now.

Do not ever mention Sagas again. Reading that makes my eyes hurt and bleed. Horrid, HORRID, game.

If they refine the combat system to ridiculous amounts, I'll buy it. If it's almost the same as Tenkaichi 2, I'll still buy it. I got Tenkaichi 2 for free (promo), so I don't mind paying for a T3 if it's better.

I can guess the reason, but I'm disappointed to hear it's not coming out on PS3.

Now I have a PS3 I will rarely by a PS2 game for full price.

That being said, I will definitely buy this game.
