Ultimate Duck Hunting coming to Wii

Wii News | No relation to the NES game, mind.

The name Duck Hunt will no doubt be sending many of you back to the 80's, where shooting ducks with a bright orange gun was the fun thing to do. However, Ultimate Duck Hunting, from industry newcomers Detn8 Games, has nothing to do with the NES classic. At all. The game claims to be a realistic hunting simulation, with the Wii-mote being your weapon of choice.

There are even four different modes of play. There's single-player, multiplayer and training, all of which are fairly self-explanatory. There's even a career mode, complete with seasons. In addition to shooting, you will also have to retrieve your kills with your trusty dog, a Labrador retriever, funnily enough.

Ultimate Duck Hunting is scheduled for a July release. The first images are in the media panel.

Why don't Nintendo release a downloadable Duck Hunt with Wii controls? Or any of the SuperScope games, like Metal Combat/Battle Clash. *sigh*

I know I say this alot, but those graphics SUCK. Seriously some DS games look better than that.

i may be the only person who thinks this could be ok that is as long as im not paying $99 for it if its budget i think it could be quite good, might remind people that the wii is seemingly designed for shooting games

the screen shots could be from a development build of the game, we have seen early screen shots looking terrible before i think its too early to judge

Well this could be fun. If its a budget title I might be able to put up with the crap graphics. Is it just me or is that guy taking a leak in that screenshot?

I don't get it. Why would the Wiimote need a gun peripheral.

If anything, the traditional consoles need the peripheral were as the Wiimote.... well its the Wiimote its duty is to BE a light gun.

They've already announced one, though. Its essentially a cradle that makes the Wiimote feel more like a gun.

I'm with Qbert and DIU on this one.
The headline sucked me in, but when I got there, the cupboard... it was bare... except for some poorly rendered ducks...

I too would like to see a real Duck Hunt sequel with the Wii-mote and a gun-style shell to make it 'cooler' - that would be cool!

It must, and I mean MUST, see a return of the dog.

This looks awful. They shouldn't try to make realistic graphics if they are going to look drab and crap like this. I would be much more interested in a fast paced cartoony style version of duck hunt. That's the kind of thing I bought a wii for.....

I like how the guy is relieving his fatigue by being completely stretched out like that. I'm tired....let me stand on my head.

I agree with teashades....they should really go for the cartoony look as that's where I see Wii visuals excelling.

The Graphics look really pathetic. I wish Nintendo would release better games or before they released the Wii make the graphics look better.

It's not Nintendo's fault the 3rd parties are lazy. If Nintendo were making this game it would look quite nice.

Edit: As well as this company does look pretty small-time with further inspection of their website, definitely should be a budget game.
