No online play in EA's Playground

Wii Rumour | Wii and DS version both offline-only.
EA has apparently informed GameDaily that neither version of EA Playground, the Wii Sports rival that is to appear on both the Wii and Nintendo DS, will come with online play.

If true, it would seem like something of a missed opportunity; after all, none of the other numerous mini-game compilations on the Wii have thus far supported online play, and such a feature would surely be something of a boon for Playground. For its part, EA has refused to either confirm or dismiss the news, which appeared in a GameDaily preview of the game.

More as it arrives.

Online play would have been the thing to make it worth getting as far as I am concerned, it makes it just another collection of mini-games
