EA making new mini-game compilation for Wii/DS

Wii News | Because you can never have enough.
EA has thrown its giant corporate hat into the ring previously dominated by Wii Sports, Wii Play, WarioWare and Rayman Raving Rabbids, by announcing a new mini-game compilation for the Wii and DS. Speaking to IGN, the company revealed EA Playground would appear later this year, and that the title will feature mini-games that capitalise on the unique features of Nintendo's two consoles.

Judging by the name, Playground (a working title, by the way) will be targeted at the younger end of the market, with mini-games including the likes of RC Car Racing, Dodge Ball, Bug Hunt and Spit Ball (no idea on that last one). A multiplayer mode is confirmed for both versions. We'll have more as information becomes available.

Now RC Car Racing might not be such a bad idea - RC Grand Prix was a slick little racer on the Sega Master System II, however that was in 1989. Nostalgia

This is an interesting read, this analyst I think specifically have EA and Ubisoft in mind

There are screenshots over at IGN.

They pretty much look like total s**t. RC racing looks like an N64 game.

Unless there is some interesting link-up between the DS and Wii versions, no thanks, I'll stick with WarioWare and Rayman and MArio Party 8 and so-on...

...That Wii looks PATHETIC. THat last one Dare, is probably COncept Art.

Woah what the Wii needs something original, like.a Minigame compilation! (sarcasm)

But the DS actually needs one, a good one anyway.

What's with EA? First this and now this Boogie game coming out. Can't you make some real games?

Tell that to EA and they'd probably churn out 5 more Sport games. Have they ever made a real game?

They made a boatload back in the day, check through this list and you should see a good handfull of games you've enjoyed playing. If not, you fail at videogames icon_razz.gif

Edit: Just for the sake of being on-topic - This game couldn't look much more un-inspired and boring even if being a dull looking, boring sounding game was one of the ket elements of the design.

I'm excited about this. Really excited. I mean, it is from EA so it has to be good.

Man, that RC Car game looks worse than Revolt on the N64.
