New Donkey Kong Jet media

Wii News | Fresh name and screenies for Wii monkey racer.
Gamespot has a bunch of new screens up for the Wii's forthcoming simian/barrel-themed racer Donkey Kong Jet, the game formerly known as DK Bongo Blast. The title, currently under development at Paon, makes use of both the Wii remote and the Nunchuk. As we recently reported, shaking either turns your barrel-riding on-screen monkey in the corresponding direction.

The 21 new shots, a combination of character art and actual gameplay screens, can be seen in our Media Panel. The title hits Japan at the end of June, though no release details for PAL regions have been divulged yet.

What is this, I want a real donkey kong game. Donkey kong is going to waste and its sad

And those look like launch ps2 graphics, Not even to the standard of launch gamecube.

^ Well Rare is under the Microsoft banner, they may not be utilising them but their strength is in disabling Nintendo from doing so.

any word on whether or not the game will use the bongo controllers?

jungle beat was such a gem

as for a 'real' donkey kong game? maybe a collect-a-thon platformer is the last thing we need these days

I'm pretty sure they announced a while back that they dropped the original bongo-ness, which is a pity....

I think the name change effectively seals the fact that they won't be using the bongos.
