Three new titles on Virtual Console

Wii News | More Sonic!
Nintendo has updated Australia's Virtual Console line-up with three new titles making their way onto the online service: Vectorman, The Story of Thor and Sonic Spinball.

Sonic Spinball was originally released in 1993 for the Sega Mega Drive. The game isn't a platformer, but rather a pinball game that features four different zones. Vectorman is a platform game which was originally released in 1995. Much like every other platform game you'll need to defeat evil while picking up power-ups; in this case it's machine guns and triple fire guns. The Story of Thor is an action title that was originally released in 1994. All three games are available for 800 Virtual Console points each.

Man, the Virtual Console really is wasting the Xbox Live Arcade to pieces in terms of the amount of releases...

Get your act together Microsoft!

Er, yeah, good news for you Wii owners.

Was the TMNT game Turtles In Time? I remember playing that game to the death.

^ on XBLA, or VC?

the XBLA TMNT was the Arcade Games, 4 Player, Side-Scrolling Beat-em-up goodness.

the VC TMNT was the NES Platformer.

although both are good games, i would've preferred the Arcade Game, or Turtles in Time. yeah, i played them both to death, but then, isn't that a good thing?

(i barely played the NES TMNT though, as it was insanely difficult at the time, it's not so bad this time around though, tough, but not the impossible game i thought it was.)

Ah, Sonic Spinball, the black sheep of the 2D sonic games. Still alot of fun though.

I liked Story of Thor but it will have to wait, still haven't found any points cards so yet to get A Link to the Past yet

Now hurry up and distribute some bloody points cards!

I'm the opposite, I have four cards (two current'y and two coming), and have no way to use them until tomorrow (assuming Nintendo Aust are open tomorrow).

re: what the thread is actually about:
Sonic Spinball is okay, but i wouldn't buy it on VC:
1. have it in one of GC collections
2. have finished it a few times and there's nothing else to do with it, really.

Wii is the winner for retro DLC. I will buy one the day Goldeneye comes out for it!

Apparently there are negotiations about being able to but those certain 64 titles (Goldeneye, Banjo, Perfect Dark) on both XBLA and VC, but yeah, dont expect it to happen. I am sure Microsoft will find a way to put it on XBLA and leave VC in the lurch

On Sonic, I wonder how they are going to do the lock on thing with Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, the combo between those two in my mind still makes the greatest game ever made, will they release it as one big package or 2 separate games that wont be able to be combined?
