Two new titles on the Virtual Console

Wii News | Would you believe, A Link To The Past?
Nintendo hasn't forgotten to update its Virtual Console service today, with one new titles added to the download service - The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past was originally released in 1992 for the SNES and is available for 800 points. Castlevania was expected to be out today, but appears to have been delayed.

UPDATE: Castlevania is now available, it appears went up a couple of hours late.

I'm getting LttP for sure. How's Castlevania? I downloaded Super Castlevania IV from the VC and loved it, is the original similar?

Im my opinion it'd be the same as comparing Super Mario World to the original Super Mario Bros. Side by side the original looks quite bland, but the basic gameplay is there..
I played it to death on my NES, so I dont think I'll be shelling out for it

Oh hell yeah I've never played LttP - time for me to get my Wii hooked up to the internet.

800 points is what, $12, yeah?

^ yep. $12.

and to bulk this post up a bit, because otherwise it's only 2 words, a picture of a Potato.

Don't spose you can save your game in castlevania eh?Forget trying to complete that in one sitting.

Impressive again VC, wonder how long it can keep it up, it seems to have pulled most aces already(zeldas, marios and the like).

all VC games have a save feature, or "suspend" would be a better word.

if you hit the home button, then return to main menu, it suspends the game at that point, and next time you load the game, it'll be paused where to turned it off. even mid-race in Mario-Kart, should you desire.

As with all VC games, exiting through the Wii menu will put your game on sleep ready to pick up again when you're ready.

I'm really hoping to see Wonderboy in Monsterworld soon, I know the OFLC has classified it. For me its SEGA's equivalent of LTTP, its been far too long.

A Link to the Past? Oh hell yeah!

I probably won't even play it much, but I'm buying LttP just to have a copy again!

Might get Castlevania later, maybe.

Finally

Been waiting for Zelda since forever. Even went out and got a classic controller for the occasion.

This will be my first VC purchase and then I should have enough points left over for Kirby on NES. Great work nintendo, they've pit some awesome games up, just the price which still concers me. Now I should probebly get a VC controller lkike you did Cerebral. What's the cheapest going round, still $25?

JB should have them for $25, but mine were out, so I copped a $30 one from EB.
jesus christ I cant even buy them direct from nintendo for $25, wish a JB was close to me I could make more profit by buying them and reselling at my store icon_wink.gif

While we're on the subject of buying things, where can you pick up one of those USB Wi-Fi dohickeys?
i've seen them in Myer and EB. other games stores probably have them too.

and here's another potato.

Why'd castlevania get pulled?
Thats fairly weak, one title (one great title, but one title nonetheless) for a system that can have thousands potentially is not a good amount.

vEDIT: Nevermind then. (though 2 is a little weak - is that cause theres supposed to be a Turbografx game there too?)

Erm - Castlevania was just a few hours late, it's up there now.

Only problem - it's slooooow 50Hz. Probably not a problem for most NES players, but I've been playing on a Famicom for years. Still, it looks amazing via component colour.

^^One new title, with no mention of castlevania in the article.I assumed something must have happened and Luke edited the article.Because it did say 2 before, both lltp and castlevania.

OK, downloaded LttP yesterday and it was definatly money well spent on my first VC game, and then cube controller aint half bad for it either surprisingly. The only bad thing is that I only had 200 points left over - not enough for Kirby.

hey I just got the Wii onto the internet so its all on Wii 24. When the Wii Point cards come into the stores I will buy the Games and I was just wondering is a gamecube controller good to use for the VC Games?
Yeah, it's better than that Virtual Controller or whatever it's called.
