Mario Party 8 images revealed

Wii News | The game is getting close.
Nintendo has provided us with some of the first images for Mario Party 8, which looks like it may be only a few months off release.

Mario Party 8 will contain fourteen characters including the Hammer Bros., Blooper, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario and Toad. The game seems like it will have an extensive multiplayer mode too - there will be two-on-two and three-on-three games as well as games where you'll be on your lonesome. The boards have been redesigned too and some of the boards will be on multi levels.

The latest images appear to show off some of the mini games that'll make an appearance in the final game and we must admit it's looking pretty impressive. Look for more on Mario Party 8 shortly.

This should make good use of the Wiimote, obviously.

Let's see what Ninty can conjour up for the party - I havn't really played much Mario Party after the first couple, how was 6 & 7? Stale or still good?

they were all generally the same thing really. The mic in 6 didnt make the any more fun IMO.

^ That's disappointing to hear. icon_sad.gif

I'm still interested in the game though, I'm always up for some great use of the Wiimote (just like WarioWare).

Does Mario Party sell really good? Because I'm sick of seeing it.

I will buy this one - the Wiimote should freshen up the gameplay, and my friends love Mario Party. Its when the 9th, 10th and 11th instalments appear, which will no doubt be just like the 8th, that I get sick of Mario's parties.

I like the Mario Party games, great fun for me and my siblings to sit down and beat the c**p out of each other without any physical marks of doing so icon_razz.gif

Own 1 & 2, 4-6, yet to purchase 7, GBA one & 3 (if i could find a freakin copy of it i would buy it, to complete the set if anything icon_mad.gif). And i have to say each game is still fun, with each installment changing the formula slightly and improving on whats already there.

I'll definitely buy this game, think about it, it will be the first multiplayer party game on Wii which actually uses more than one controller icon_smile.gif

So when do we expect to see this on Aussie shelves?

Does Nintendo create this game or license their characters out to a second-party studio??

They lend them out to Hudson(if they still do).

I think they should keep the same format but change the name, the cast of characters and the locations from being concerned with Mario Bros and focus on other key characters.

I will get this installment, but not those after this. I stopped playing these games at the second one and didn't feel like playing the others until now with the Wii.

I don't understand why changing the cast of characters (to an all in Nintendo love fest or otherwise) would make these games better. That goes for all of the various Mario sports too.
