Impossible Mission screenshots revealed

Wii News | New information revealed too.
System 3 has provided us with some of the latest information on the upcoming Impossible Mission, which is set for release next month on the Wii, PSP and the Nintendo DS.

Impossible Mission is a remake of the 1984 Commodore 64 game, the game will be enhanced graphically, but you'll once again have six hours of real-time gameplay to try and search through all of the rooms and locate 36 puzzle pieces to crack the code. Each time you begin the game the rooms are rearranged and whilst there will be no fixed number of lives, your time will decrease by ten minutes everytime you die.

The images for Impossible Mission can be found in our Media Panel. Look out for an interview with System 3 early next week on PALGN.

Budget games are the bomb! The explosive kind.

I'm 30 and I've been waiting for this one! The original is a fantastic game, I'll be buying it for PSP as soon as it comes out. Don't know if it will convince the younger players to go retro, but this was one of the best games on C64.

I dont mean to offend but it looks like that megadrive game Another world.

Uh, what? The graphical style has more in common with Flashback than Another World.

*sigh* Why a remake? If I wanted a complete remake, I'd actually do it myself.

Oh they have ZX Spectrum on VC now?

Amazing..... Oh hang on I see, this is supposed to be a new game. Well great it seems the flood of shovelware is here a little early. Soooo exciting!

The original impossible Mission from Epix is probably not a better game - but it looks about the same and is downloadable for free. But I'm sure this trash is really a bargain at $90.

Pretty sure it's not full price. You have to think that in 10 years time your kids will laugh their asses off at Halo 3.

Aww man.. of all the C64 games they remake they pick this one? Once again it seems my taste in games is radically different than the common gamer. I could think of at least 20 games from that era that I would have much preferred to see than this one. Starting with WizzBall which was not only the signle greatest game ever released for C64 but also one of the greatest games of all time.

Still, even tho it was way down on my list, I did get many many hours of enjoyment out of this one. I think the graphics look great for what they are, and they will more than suit the game style and play.

For those of you who never played Impossible Mission, it was for all intent and purpose the first "Prince of Persia" style of game. Very simillar in feel, style, and gameplay. This one focussed more on Puzzles, and set in "modern" times.

[edit] Goober, dude.. thats GREAT!! icon_biggrin.gif

I remember playing the game on the Apple IIe, I absolutely loved it. I don't think I loved it enough to pay more than 20 bucks for it now, even with the graphical overhaul (if you could call it that). But hey, if a developer can expect you to pay 100 bucks for tetris, why not charge the same for IM?

If you ever want to revisit that experience on an Apple running ProDOS just cruise by my place next time you are in Sydney. Apple IIe Europlus was my second computer (ZX Spectrum first) and mine still looks brand spanking new - its one of 50+ different system platforms in the Cookie Computer Cafe (more of a bar & grill actually).
