Fight Night on its way to the Wii?

Wii Rumour | EA are certainly considering it.
The boxing game in Wii Sports was addictive and worked well, but was no substitute for a real boxing game, it appears that EA have noticed this and they're considering bringing the Fight Night franchise to the Wii.

EA sports producer Michael Blank told Doghouse Boxing in an interview "“We’re talking about it (Fight Night Round 3) right now. We’re contemplating and we definitely feel there are some exciting things we can do with the Fight Night franchise and the Wii. When you play Wii Boxing it is a very simple experience and I think that is what they designed it to be just to let you know that you can throw punches.

"With Fight Night we have an amazing simulation of Boxing and so we need to take those Wii controls and tailor it to what the Fight Night consumer might want to experience. We are looking at it right now and I am sure you will something some time in the future on the Wii…We want people to get a bit of workout. If you like playing sports games and are excited by sports it is a good way to give you the best of both worlds.”

EA has embraced the Wii, with Madden NFL 07 offering a unique take on the franchise and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 on the way next month we wouldn't be surprised if Fight Night is next.

It better happen. Though there is that Boxing Revolution game being made. But I'm still hoping for Punch Out!!

It better be more respoonsive then Wii Boxing.

That would be cool, prob is that Wii Sports Boxing really took it out of me. Also Punch Out is apparently on its way as well

if you want FPS and other "adult orientated" games, get a 360, otherwise if you want simple fun or innovative titles, get a Wii, I personally already have a Wii and will wait to choose between a 360 and PS3 when there are price drops and weigh in advantages and disadvantages

Looks like the Wii will have a good library in a few years with all these new titles being brought in. Any boxing games for the Wii will be a bonus.

The wii has to get some good driving games. And that controller is just not right for driving games but would be great for this fighting game.

Thats what I keep saying, getting shot down by fanboys of Billionare Billy Boy saying "oh oh but Nintendo will never have as good content as the 360" and "but but, its a kiddies machine"

The fact that Manhunt 2 is arriving on it should suggest its anything but a kiddies machine, and there is so much content that I am looking forward to.

Weather it delivers or not remains to be seen, but Metroid Prime 3 (which has been completed for a while now) is being polished to be a potential Halo killer and if Twilight Princess is any indication of Nintendo's "polish and buff" ability, it could very well happen

If MP3 turns out to be a "Halo killer", Retro have failed.

Yeah, that's not the point of Metroid Prime. MP and Halo are unrelelated, and if Metroid Prime was to lose it's originality and take on a Haloesque approach, the series would be ruined. The only thing they have in common is the ability to shoot enemies, really.

Not to mention that Metroid Prime 3 isn't finished. By all means prove me wrong but seriously, if it was finished they would release it. Especially considering they delayed it once already...

A Fight Night game could work very well on the Wii and EA could grab a lot of sales by it with practically all Wii consumers owning Wii sports, a decent sample of them would be interested in seeing Wii Boxing expanded. EA have the power to do this and to do a good job of it.

I doubt it will stray from the first 2, but I think they want it to be seen as better than Halo.

If its just Halo: Samus Edition I wont even bother buying it.

Back to the point of Fight Night, this is one of those types of sports that go hand in hand with the Wii controls, sounds promising and EA are going to put some effort due to Punch Out being on its way

I'm not sure whether or not I should start with a comparison to the PS3 and 360 version, wondering if the lack of graphical quality, but different control scheme will result in a good verson of the game?

Oh, there I go.
