Prince of Persia Wii to be port of Two Thrones

Wii News | Speed Kills back in force.
The latest Nintendo Power magazine in the US has revealed that the Wii version of Prince of Persia will be a port of Prince of Persia: Two Thrones.

There will be a twist, however - reportedly all dagger plants, speed kills, free-form fighting and the daggertail will all be executed using the Wii remote. We rather enjoyed Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones when we reviewed it last year, and early next year the PSP will be getting Prince of Persia: Rival Blades, which is also to be a port of The Two Thrones. In other words, those after an expansion of the storyline for the prince will have to wait.

We'll have more information on Prince of Persia Wii once it becomes available.

I'm a bit bummed because I was under the impression we were going to see a new game, as in not a port. At the very least I expected a game to be set somewhere between the games.

Oh well, you can't have everything.

Do yourselft a favor and get the GC one now. The Wii one will probably be worse in every way possible.

No company has seen quite a fall from grace in my books as Ubisoft has, and this news certainly isn't helping.

Such a shame. I loved those guys too.

I think you're all jumping the gun. I can't see the Wii version being any worse than the GCN one, especially since it's not a rushed 'gotta-get-it-out-in-time-for-launch' port.

Yeah but its a "omg-it-uses-the-wiimote-so-we-can-charge-you-$100" port. Not cool.

You can buy the game now for $20 icon_sad.gif It won't sell.

Porting a year old game with substituted controls? Lame.

And probably a PS2 port to makes things worse.

Yeh not great value considering you can buy the Prince of Persia Trilogy on PS2 for about 40 odd dollars. Those PSP remakes are poor value as well.

I thought the whole point of giving the Wii a unique control scheme was to cut down on lame-ass ports?

Let's hope Ubisoft's "exclusive" (I mean that in a scared way) new IP for Wii will surprise us.

I forsee bad things for alot of third parties on Wii. Specificaly they release this kind of bullcrap (f*** off, Wiimakes), nobody buys it, companies leave because "3rd party games wont sell", and Wii owners go back to waiting 6 months for the next Mario Party as thats the only game coming out.

Oh boy, fun.

I agree the Wii will not be enhanced by quick remakes of GC titles. PSP suffers a similar issue with PSOne remakes.

The other thing thats going to kill the Wii dead is having sword play in every second game.

Zelda, Red Steel and now Bleach. Thats going to get stale really quick.

The Wii needs diversity and games that will attract the general gamer.

Bear in mind that two of those games are franchises defined by their swordplay.
