UK Virtual Console dates revealed

Wii News | A strong indication of what we'll get in Australia?
The UK version of the Official Nintendo Magazine has revealed the release schedule for Virtual Console releases in the UK. We've not heard a peep from Nintendo Australia about which titles will be released, but we think the following list is a pretty good indication of what Australia will be getting too; minus the Turbografx titles, that is.

The release schedule is as follows:

15th December
  • Alien Crush (TurboGrafx-16)
  • Columns (Megadrive)
  • Dr. Robotonik's Mean Bean Machine (Megadrive)
  • Gunstar Heroes (Megadrive)
  • Pinball (NES)
  • Ristar (Megadrive)
  • Solomon's Key (NES)
  • Urban Champion (NES)
22nd December
  • Donkey Kong Jr. (NES)
  • Military Madness (TurboGrafx-16)
  • Soccer (NES)
  • Tennis (NES)
  • Space Harrier II (Megadrive)
  • Toe Jam & Earl (Megadrive)
29th December
  • Baseball (NES)
  • Ice Hockey (NES)
  • R-TYPE (TurboGrafx-16)
  • SimCity (Super Nintendo)
  • Super Castlevania IV (Super Nintendo)
  • Super Probotector (Super Nintendo)
Stay tuned to PALGN - as soon as we find out more information about the Aussie VC titles we'll report back.

Why are Nintendo so stingy on the 64 games? I mean who the hell is waiting for Ice Hockey on NES?

It makes perfect sense to release the N64 games sparingly, there were more games produced for NES and SNES.

Super Castlevania is the only Nintendo console title I intend to get on that list, however alot of Mega Drive stuff
Ristar, Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine, Gunstar Heroes, Toejam & Earl

I think they will end up realising being stingy in Australia is in itself too much work and will unify AU and UK for a "PAL list" where they can think of putting alot of work into one reigon that covers all these countries

I think they'll end up realizing that releasing ANYTHING in Australia is in itself too much work and just won't bother anymore.

Have we even got Phoenix Wright or Trauma Centre on the DS yet?

This "region separation" stuff is antiquated and ridiculous. There should be a single database worldwide, period.

Oh wait, there is... BitTorrent. icon_lol.gif
