Elebits to be the first WiiConnect24 game

Wii News | We're thrilled to bits.
Gamefront has revealed that Elebits will be one of the first titles to take advantage of the WiiConnect24 capabilities of the Wii.

You'll be able to send new maps to users overnight, and it will also be possible to edit your own levels with custom rules and send them off to a friend. As a bit of a bonus you'll even be able to take screen captures and send the images over to your friends.

It's only a small beginning, but we were beginning to get a little bit worried that developers had forgotten about this feature on the Wii.

So you can send maps and make new levels but not actually actively play any sort of multiplayer or co-op mode? Quite dissapointing.

Sounds fun, sending maps sounds like a good idea, not original but a good feature to have nonetheless.

Was it me or was a there a news post here before with 2 articles which were samething about loco roco demo or I'm pushing myself insane?

Yep, Luke posted an article with the same content as this one, I pointed it out because I saw the original in 'Related Articles' and away it then went.

On topic, it's great that online features are finally coming to Nintendo home consoles, and this sounds like a decent first step (excluding Pokemon).

I've been waiting all my life for a leet co-op game I can play on a console over teh interwebs. I will pass out soon if a decent **** game doesn't come out on Wii with it. Here's hoping for Sims Wii....

Go outside and run, run to your local games emporium and buy yourself a 360 with GoW icon_razz.gif

Good to know that the Connect 24 service is being worked in at an early stage of the Wii's life, even if it is only baby steps for now. After the concerns that it wouldn't be making an appearence for a fair while after launch I consider this some good news.

I couldnt say it better. Even though the Wii is new and different, without some real online games, it will fall behind other consoles pretty fast. icon_cry.gif

In the past few days I've been really tempted to get one with all you guys playing GoW online. But I don't want to spend all the money on a Wii and 360 in 2 weeks! Not that I can't afford it, but it's a bit of a waste if I can't give them both lots of alone time.

I'm sure they will both be getting some alone time in the future, and there's nothing wrong with taking two at once, I'm sure either of them wont mind icon_wink.gif

On topic: nice to see the feature put to use, and hopefully this sort of thing does make its way into a lot of games.

I Disagree, whatever you do don't buy both.

Both will most likely have a price cut early next year (360 definitely will), so get one now and the other when there's a decent price cut. If you're really going to get both eventually, the 360 is better value in Australia right now, but is also most likely to get a price cut sooner.

Brawl anyone? icon_smile.gif

David: That price cut isn't guaranteed, it could be a smart move to get one now. But it's really up to you Mitchacho. I think you're right to get them with a decent gap between, savor each one by itself.

Is this gonna be launched in Australia?
