Even more Virtual Console games exposed

Wii News | Mario, Link, Fox and Samus on the way.
For those of you out of the loop, eight new retro titles for the Wii's Virtual Console popped up on the ESRB website yesterday, having been approved by the US regulatory body. With names such as Pilotwings, Duck Hunt, Kirby's Adventure, Punch-Out and Kid Icarus being casually thrown around, we were thoroughly excited. And now they've just been joined by this lot:
  • Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Kirby’s Super Star
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Starfox 64
  • Super Metroid
  • Kirby’s Dream Land 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
  • Excitebike
  • Ice Climber
  • Dr. Mario
  • Mario Brothers
  • Ice Hockey
  • Soccer
Admittedly, Nintendo has already discussed a few of these coming to the VC, but there's still a handful there that we haven't encountered on previous lists. Hopefully PAL consumers will be getting a similar deal to the lucky sods across the pond.

Holy Moly!!! Those titles are huge!! I'd buy a Wii just for Mario RPG (and starfox 64/lylat wars)!! SOLD Nintendo ya bastards!

With the exception of Ice Hocey and Soccer, I would purchase all of those without hesitation.

Hoping we get them too, and soon!

I'm really looking forward to Ocarina of Time. I've heard that in the new Zelda game, there are subtle references to orcarina of time.

Watch, as despite the fact that everyone's played it to death, we will inevitably buy Ocarina of Time.

If Mario RPG isn't available to Australia-land for any reason I will think of a menacing threat against Nintendo, then consider carrying it out.

Indeed. Even though I know I'll be bored of it three hours in I'll still get it.

I won't be buying Ocarina of Time...I already have that and Master Quest on the gamecube special edition of Wind Waker and those should work fine in the Wii.

Also i'll probably never even load that game up ever again let alone play it.

And i'll help Cerebral carry out *insert dastardly deed* if Nintendo don't release Mario Rpg here.

Yeah, my N64 still works and I've got the Master Quest disc, so I won't be buying OoT on the Wii!

Not to mention the version of OoT in the Collector's Edition GCN disc...

Still...

Mario Kart 64
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Starfox 64
About time that these were announced. Was worried some of them wouldnt be on it...

I have the Zelda Collectors Edition on Gamecube, So I don't need to download any zelda games,

Does anyone think goldeneye will see light of day on the virtual console

or does rareware own the entirety of the game?
It's actually split, Nintendo own the Nintendo 64 emulation software. Rareware own GoldenEye and EA own the rights to James Bond. Highly doubtful GoldenEye will make an appearance.

EA flogged the rights off, Activision now own them.

Starfox 64 is a definate and I'm with you Cer and ugh if Mario RPG doesn't come out.

Mario RPG will be the real test of whether or not our VC gets screwed over.

Safe bet it depends on how well the service goes in AU, I highly doubt it we will get games that didnt come out in this region. Looks like I will have to get that second Wii next year after all............ argh.

Does it really cost soo much money to get a game classified by the OFLC?

Otherwise I can't understand why a game like Mario RPG wouldn't get released here.

I hear ya. I've played OOT enough and don't intend to play anytime within at least the next 20 years.
