Mario Party 8 on its way

Wii News | Wow, you don't say?
Mario Party 8 has been revealed at the Nintendo World event in Japan. According to Eurogamer, the demo at Nintendo World features six playable demos, and just like the previous Mario Party titles Mario Party 8 will throw a bunch of Nintendo characters together to play off in a board game.

The mini-games will take advantage of the Wii remote so you'll be able to shake, tilt and rotate the controller in numerous different mini-games. Characters in the game will include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario and Toad.

Unfortunately that's about all the information we currently have - as soon as more information as revealed we'll report back, it shouldn't be too long now.

I haven't been into these games since the first one on N64, so I'm not pissed that there's another title because if its on the Wii that would be cool.

Fine - BLAM!

We love our Mario Party games and I am looking forward to seeing MP8 on the Wii. It's games like this and WarioWare that actually make the Wii appealing to me.

We're also looking forward to Fuzion Frenzy 2 on X360 - but that's probably something you can't appreciate either. icon_wink.gif

I haven't bothered with Maro Party since the 3rd game, too repetitive. A Wii version may have some promise, I'll wait and see how it turns out.

Yes, the 64 version were great fun, but since then it has gone down hill. However on the Wii it could be awesome.

I enjoy Mario Party games, only in multiplayer though. I actually find it to be one of the most frustrating games ever icon_razz.gif

As for Fuzion Frenzy 2, I played the demo and hated it. Not really sure why though, maybe due to the fact that it doesn't have any of the charm of the Mario Party series.

Echo, if you gave up because of MP4/5 you should try MP6 (and *maybe* MP7). 6 felt more like 3 than 4/5.

Yeah - FF2 is definitely one for the fans. We were FF-mad because of our son, and he's the most obviously hyped about this one too.

MP series - as you say, SO much more enjoyable in multiplayer.

My friends and I enjoy Mario Party (I have 4 and 5, which are apparently the worst two, but I can't justify to myself spending $100 on another), so I'll definately be keeping my eye on this one.

If nothing else, hopefully they fix the damn repetitive animation and sound effects - I love using Waluigi, but by the end of about the fifth game I'm sick of him putting one foot forward and telling me that he is the "weiner".

Seems like a Wii version could bring a whole lot new to the table. Unfortunatly, I don't think I'd ever get the opportunity to play with three or more real people, so I won't be looking at this.

Oh, it's on the Wii icon_razz.gif I had the impression it was another Gamecube one.

Unfortunately I purchased both Mario Party 4 & 5 on Gamecube - I am absolutely sick of Mario Party!

Mario Party needs a fresh start. Wii could do it for Mario Party. I'll look with great interest.
