eGames 06: Nintendo announces Wii events for Oz

Wii News | Where you can play and when.
Nintendo Australia has revealed a lengthy list of dates and Aussie venues where gamers will be able to experience the company's forthcoming Wii console for themselves.

On a variety of dates spread throughout November and December, the console will be making an appearance at a number of public locations, retail stores, and also at Melbourne game show GAME1. Most importantly of all, Ninty's new machine will also be making an appearance at the eGames expo from 17-19 November, where - and we do believe we've mentioned this on the odd occasion - we'll have our very own stand. So not only can you get your Wii on, but you can also meet some of the staff who write for this fine website. But not me. Unless someone wants to pay my airfare. You know you want to.

Anyway, the full list of where Wii will be and when it'll be there can be found here.

Am I missing something on the Retail Stores page, or do we just wander around visiting shops until we find the demo units?
I guess its safe to assume that they mean EBs, but having some kind of explanation there would be nice.

I've been soooo pissed at Nintendo this pas few months, They forget Canberra exists for the Wii Party's and now this too! They cover a hole like Adelaide yet we're not even worth mentioning

Also with the delays of Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl and now Excite Truck, its a very Ubisoft launch, may as well be Ubisoft making the console

I was thinking that. "Retail stores... Rundle Mall..." There's like a 400 retail shops in Rundle Mall!!!!!!!

Woah! It looks like NAL are actually putting effort into promoting this thing! And the best thing is their coming to my little suburb.

But yeah, the retail locations is a little vague at the moment - but it does say more info coming soon.

Is there any reason I should also go to GAME1? It's part of the AutoSalon right? Was gonna wait for eGames, but if you can convince me otherwise...

Game1 has the big 360 tourny - although if you're not playing it's probably going to be pretty boring. There will be a few pubs with booths, although it's going to be mostly car racing games (for obvious reasons).

eGames is more like a games expo - more games content, keynote speeches and what-not.

Those dates have just been inputted into my diary.

As far as I know, these events will be free from any store. They will be out on the mall floor in a setup area. Im sure it wont be hard to miss...

Hmm. I might just rock up to the roadshow events then. If I'm going to play a Wii I'd like it not to be GT Pro Series.

Good idea from Nintendo they got a lot of mileage from doing the exact same thing with N64. icon_y1.gif
