Heatseeker revealed

Wii News | Developed in Australia and coming to the PlayStation 2, PSP and the Wii.
Codemasters has officially revealed the next project from Australian developers IR Gurus via a press release today, the game (called Heatseeker) is an aerial combat game.

The game is aiming to be an incredible "lock on/shake-off" dog fighting game. Codies are claiming that Heatseeker reinvents missile combat; although we're not entirely sure how just yet. The game is set to feature a large selection of current and future military fighter jets including the F-22 Raptor, the classic F-15 Europe and the SU-47 Berkut. If you understood everything I just said entirely then it's likely your salivating at the mouth at this news.

We've included the first images of the game in our media panel, so we suggest you check them out. We'll have more information on Heatseeker as soon as possible, but if you were wondering if IR Gurus were working on something other than the AFL titles then you just got your answer.

Don't tell me they'll have you shake the remote to shake off a missile. Somehow I get the feeling this is not how things work in practice.

Those are terrible looking images, and if they're for ps2..eesh. Look at Ace Combat, looks quite beautiful if you ask me..how about some EFFORT put into those models?
And that supposed Wii image doesn't look all too great either..I still say Ace Combat looks way better.

Yeah, honestly, I played Ace Combat 5 (9.3 from IGN) and Heroes of the Pacific (previous IRG flight game) back to back and... well... Ace Combat was a steaming pile in comparison. Incredibally over-rated.
I'm holding out hope on this one being some quality arcade-style flight action - especially since it's Aussie made.
