Wii Zelda to have controller swordplay

Wii News | Also: Shiggy to revive Cube games on new machine?
Just days after it was revealed that the Wii version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would not be compatible with GameCube controllers, Nintendo guru Shigeru Miyamoto has declared that the Wii controller can be used for slashing Link's sword about in the game.

Shiggy's mini-revelation was revealed in an interview with Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream, and means that the controls in the final build of Twilight Princess should differ somewhat from those seen at E3 in May, where the B button on the Wii-mote conducted swordplay. Meanwhile, firing arrows is now carried out with the newly-free B button, as opposed to the D-pad.

In other news, it turns out that Miyamoto is considering giving certain GameCube titles a Wii make-over. "I'm thinking I can remake some of my GameCube games for Wii, making use of the Wii-mote," said the Shigster, dollar signs spinning in his eyes. "Of course, you can wander into a second hand shop and buy a lot of these games still, so I don't think we can release these games at full price. Since a lot of the development cost has already been accounted for, we'll be able to release these at a much more affordable price."

More as we get it, folks.

These will pretty much be ports, they're using the same code (sans new controller functionality) so it sounds like they're ports. So everyone has done this before.
But, at least they won't be direct ports, which is better than nothing..
How is it better than nothing? How is Nintendo's devleopment companies wasting time and resources on rehashing games that we already own / can find fairly easily and, more importantly, play on that console anyway better than them, oh, I dunno... making new games?

Yeah, sure, Pikmin might work great with the Wiimote - so make a Pikmin 3. If RE4 + Wiimote = Heaven, well then thats what Capcom should be putting into REWii.

Nintendo and their fanboys love to rant about how Nintendo's innovation 'saves the industry' and that their competitors are just rehashing old stuff, so how about spending time on a new game? Its not rocket science, really.

Am I the only one not excited about playing the same f***ing games with a slightly different controller? icon_neutral.gif

Nope, many of us aren't. However a new way to play through RE4 is allways welcomed by me.
