Prince of Persia on Wii confirmed

Wii News | Clambering its way to the new generation.

We reported last week that there was a rumour floating around the internet about a Prince of Persia game destined for the Wii early next year. These rumours sprang from a news post by Jeuxpro, which reported that Ubisoft had announced that a Wii incarnation of the Prince was in development. And now, the guys over at 1up.com have managed to get confirmation from Ubisoft that the game does exist.

Ubisoft told 1up that, "a game based on the popular Prince of Persia franchise is one of many titles Ubisoft has in development for Nintendo's Wii. At this time we can not provide an official date for the game or any additional information about it."

It appears that the release of this news had originally been a slip up on the part of Ubisoft France. Whatever the case, this is great news for anyone who enjoyed scrambling and slashing their way through the Prince’s previous worlds in the Sands of Time trilogy.

Isn't this a given? I mean the new trilogy did fairly well so I can't imagine the team just stopping, that would be like them ceasing to make another Splinter Cell title after Double Agent. It's crazy talk.

The prince of persia on wii should be awesome. it was awesome on normal consoles, and with the motion sensor it should be great

I would like it to move to 360 and PS3 too, but meh, either way, any console that has PoP = instant buy.

I can see by your avatar, the controls will surely be gestures during fight sequences but i definitely dont want a story with sands again cos they are already getting tooo old.
