Mortal Kombat coming to the Wii

Gamespot has revealed that a Midway spokesperson has confirmed that Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is currently in development for the Wii and is scheduled for release in the 1st Quarter of 2007.

No other information about the Wii version has been revealed, but the game will probably require quite a few adjustments to work with the system, considering the controller is quite different. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon compiles every character to ever grace a Mortal Kombat game and it's certainly looking very promising. We'll have more information as soon as it becomes available.

I read elsewhere that all 60 Mortal Kombat characters will be in this game, i welcome that with open arms

& i thought it used the GCN controller?
Isn't that going to be the trend with Wii fighters & the like?

(i was gonna link a pic to this post from IGN cause i thought it proved that the GCN controller is used, but the pictures seem to be the Xbox pictures, but in the Wii version of the images for this particular game

btw, i've only ever played Mortal Kombat 4 & Mortal Kombat Trilogy, are there any good characters that i have perhaps missed out on that weren't in those 2 games?

before i refreshed it (a couple of minutes ago) used to say:
