Ubisoft confirms Red Steel as Rev launch title

Wii News | "A new video game experience", promises Ubi.
A few days back, we reported on the unveiling of Red Steel, an Ubisoft-developed shooter (with a katana) that's been specifically designed for the freestyle controller of the Revolution.

Well now, Ubisoft has not only announced the game (cheers for that, guys), but has also stated that it would appear alongside the Revolution console as a launch title. In other words, Red Steel is the first title to be absolutely 100% confirmed as a Revolution launch game, and it looks like Ubisoft is right behind the Revolution philosophy as well, with the studio proclaiming that Red Steel, "will appeal to gamers who thirst for a new video game experience, as well as those who may have not previously considered picking up a controller".

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime is equally chuffed, and admitted that "[Nintendo is] excited to have Ubisoft bring Red Steel to the Revolution launch line-up. Ubisoft makes some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed games in the industry and from what we have seen from Red Steel, it's going to be a standout exclusive title on the Revolution."

Of course, we still don't know precisely when the Revolution itself will be launching, though in just 28 days, we should be a little wiser on the subject.
