E3 2005: High resolution Revolution picture

Wii News | Does this confirm the name?
A bigger, better picture of the Nintendo revolution has surfaced. It shows the console to be about the size of the original PS2, minus the hard drive bay.

And here it is:

wasn't the Atari Lynx bigger then that?!

We just added a few more pictures and enlarged a section that shows the name:

Revolution. Who would have thought?

Sweet jeebus that's bloody tiny.

I convince myself that I won't buy into any of Nintendo's silly gimmicks and go for a more mainstream console then BAM! Nintendo hit me with a sleek, no-bull console that delivers strong features and functionality. If they get some decent horsepower out of this (not to mention third party support), they've entirely swung me back their way.

Of course, this could well change if their controller turns out to be some wacky gyroscope. I pray for practical innovation.

ie. PS3 controller.

On another note, it seems way too small to have everything a 5th(?) generation console has in it.

I'd say it's about the size of the PStwo. Slightly larger.

Added a new pic which confirms the name.

Still looks fake IMO, but since IGN are now posting these images, I'm guessing they must be real.

The conference should be starting right now. We're still waiting.

It looks sexier than sex itself. All we can do now is wait and hope that the don't screw it up.

Hey, I had music at exactly 2am, shocked me awake, but it was a nice touch icon_biggrin.gif It's gone now icon_sad.gif oh well. The Revolution is very very nice, simple, yet beautifully stylish, can't wait to see the controller *please let it be as nice, crosses fingers*

The lack of any controller, technical specifications, significant video footage or a new Super Mario game shown for the Revolution was a bit of a bummer...

The system looks great, and I really hope it's on par with the other 2 systems at the show, with strong 3rd party support (as CerebralAssassin said)...

So, do we have to wait until this time next year to see this thing properly???

I agree, but I'm a sucker for Reggie's speeches, so I was appeased by that icon_razz.gif
Wonder if Mario 128 is going to suddenly turn up on the show floor tomorrow as a surprise GameCube title, or if it's now essentially confirmed as a Revolution launch title? My guess would be the latter. icon_razz.gif
