Nintendo Store Update - 05/11/2011

Wii News | A little bit of Adventure.
This latest installment of the Nintendo Store update sees two games released via Nintendo's portable download services. On the 3DS the classics are covered in the form of Adventure Island while those in a more modern frame of mind can look forward to Rytmik Retrobots.

Title: Adventure Island
System: Game Boy (Virtual Console)
Price: $4.50

Taking its cues from its cousins on the NES and SNES, Adventure Island on the Game Boy is a dose of platforming fun in the palm of your hand. Run, jump and use an array of weapons in order to be reunited with your lady love.

For the first time in quite a while, the DSi service gives us a music simulating game. With this application, users can create a variety of different themes and songs on the go, from a wide selection of soundbites.

I seriously cringe every week when I see these meagre store offerings from Ninty. Not doing themselves any favours when the the DD side of their business is barely lacklustre compared to the competition.

I agree. They have an expansive list of titles that could be bulk released, but Nintendo have blown it with the Virtual Console and now this..

Bulk releases of awesome past games coupled with reasonably & competitively priced games would have worked for them, but thus far, they've done neither and seem to be holding out for one reason or another.
