Nintendo Store Update - 26/08/2011

Wii News | You'll have a bit of a Quest for yourselves finding a game this week...
In this week's edition of the Nintendo Store Update, two games are spread across platforms. Within the confines of the 3DS, gamers everywhere can download the Game Boy classic Gargoyle's Quest. On the Wii front, Aya and the Cubes of Light is available to all.

Title: Gargoyle's Quest
System: Game Boy (Virtual Console)
Price: $6.00

This handheld title has players take on the role of a plucky gargoyle as you battle hordes of enemy minions from an ancient evil. As the titular gargoyle you can fly, attach to walls and spit fireballs.

Title: Aya and the Cubes of Light
System: WiiWare
Price: 1000 Wii Points

A platform/puzzler at its heart, Aya and the Cubes of Light will have gamers gathering up energy packs which have been pilfered by a normally benign Cseom. Once you have them back, you can use them to power up engines for stars.

Nintendo aren't doing themselves any favours by charging 6 bucks for 20 year old Gameboy games; classics or not.

It's better than paying $19.95 for the cartridge at Games Trader.

I thought Link's Awakening was well worth the asking price. Easily worth 6 times as much as Tiny Wings or Angry Birds, despite being 20 years old. Stuff like Super Mario Land and Excitebike, though...

A fixed price shouldn't be their approach.
