Nintendo Store Update - 20/05/2011

Wii News | We can't count how long we've been waiting for this.
The Nintendo Store once again comes rollicking into Friday with a triumphant update that everyone has been hanging out for for a long time. Something that no gamer could do without. Yes, at long last, the DSi gets its own version of Calculator.

Oh, and there's some other game you may have heard of too. It's called Chrono Trigger.

Title: Chrono Trigger
System: SNES (Virtual Console)
Price: 900 Wii Points

With a slightly remade version appearing on the DS a few years ago, many thought that we would never see the original full version of the RPG classic heralded as one of the greatest games of all time. After a teleportation experiment goes awry, Crono must take it upon himself to go through time and space itself to save his friends and ultimately the world. There's more to it than that though - depending on the many choices you can make, the ending of the game can turn out to be something different each time you play.

I guess you could say it's (puts sunglasses on) about time...

Title: Calculator
System: DSiWare
Price: 200 DSi Points

If you've ever found yourself without a calculator, calculator watch or a calculator on your phone, then this may be the solution for you. This calculator app includes both basic functions and scientific notation for those extra difficult sums, multiples and almost anything else you can think of.

Kmart (and, I've heard, Big W) usually have the 2000 points cards for $25 or even $20 if you can find them.

I heard the DS version is better than the SNES version, so is there any point in me getting both?

The DS version is an updated/enhanced version. This is just emulated, why bother with it at all.

well for starters the screen size difference would be a good reason to get the VC version

True, but in the DS version you have the option to put all the menus and stuff onto the bottom screen to reduce clutter, which I personally prefer.

Also, what's with all the goddamn spammers? I don't want PALGN to become like IGN!!
