Goldeneye Wii's limited golden controller

Wii News | The Midas touch.
It's been rumored until now, but today Activision has confirmed that there will be a special limited edition bundle for the upcoming Goldeneye 007 title for the Nintendo Wii.

The limited edition bundle comes with just one extra goody; a golden coloured Classic Controller Pro. Previously, the Classic Controller Pro was bundled with Monster Hunter Tri, making this the second game bundle to include the controller.

We are yet to receive any Australian pricing for this package, but the US version will retail for US$69.99, with the game by itself listed at US$49.99.

Goldeneye 007 will be releasing later this year for the Nintendo Wii and DS.

Thats expensive for a remake... The GOW collection retailed for less than that and that for for the PS3.

Nintendo
Ceo: Wow a new game, how are we going to launch this guys? Promotions, prizes, competitions, a collectors item, or something else Amazing!
Marketing: We'll just paint it a colour, " goldeneye? " ok we'll paint a gold....*snaps fingers* I got it! a controller. It worked for the Wii, made us appeal for hardcore gamers by painting it black.

Yes, because it's Nintendo that decides the contents of an Activision developed and published collector's edition...

Well it's an 'enhanced remake' then. Really you can call it whatever you want, doesn't change the fact that that most of the work was already done though. It is Activision though so I shouldnt be too suprised, in their eyes it's probably Goldeneye 007 - Licence to Print Money.

Its not an enhanced remake and little of the work has already been done. They're legally unable to make a remake. Its a re-imagining of the film, drawing on inspiration from the original game.

Comparing it to the God of War re-releases makes no sense.

Easier way to explain it: It's a brand new game based on the already existing Goldeneye IP.

I wouldn't call it brand new at all. Quite a lot of the footage shows almost identical level design and layout.

In certain areas perhaps, but not the entire game. The first level follows a similar line of the original Rare design, but adds much more to that initial framework, not just graphically either.

Is there such a colour as not giving a ****?

Cause if so paint me that. This game is going to be arse. Just like Goldeneye Rouge Agent was. Anyone who expects differnt are just roping themselves in for dissapointment.

I wish to buy that controller by itself and cover it in horrible, horrible sticker crystals.

I'd order the collector's ed. of this game and give you that controller just so you could do that... if you were to then put it on a bigarse gold chain and hang it around your neck.

I think it does, like in a scientifically measurable way

Yep, you're both going to that special hell reserved for people who mistake "rouge" (red) for "rogue" (backstabber)

well there's a wire in the picture... so I'd say no, it'll work like the other ones and plug in like a nunchuck

I feel like that Golden controller should be bundled with a Zelda game instead...

am I the only one confused by the fact it has a classic controller? I mean isn't a FPS game kind of ideal for the nunchuck/wii-mote combo? It kind of seems like plugging in a 360 controller to your pc to play halflife?
