Nintendo Store Update - 02/07/2010

Wii News | Overwhemled with Ufouria...
Nintendo Store Friday is upon us again and this week's releases run the gamut of game types and formats. On the Wii you have Ufouria: The Saga waiting to be snapped up via the Virtual Console, ably supported by Jett Rocket on WiiWare.

Backing up the Wii Shop, the DSi store sees three games out today, with Maestro: Green Glove, Extreme Hangman and Prehistorik Man being made available.

Title: Ufouria: The Saga
System: NES (Virtual Console)
Price: 500 Wii Points

Bop bop bop, bop bop Bop Louie!

Ufouria: The Saga follows the tale of Bop Louie as he attempts to rescue his three friends who have fallen into a volcano, filled with bizarre creatures and its own vibrant world. Once found, players will control the four different characters and must use the unique abilities of each in order to find their way home. Originally released in 1992, Ufouria is a rare case of a game originally being sold in PAL territories but remaining unreleased in North America.

Title: Jett Rocket
System: WiiWare
Price: 1000 Wii Points

3D platformer Jett Rocket has you battling against the evil Power Plant Patrol, who seek to destroy the planet. It's up to Jett to collect solar panels in order to stop them. As you may gather by the title, Jett possesses a jet pack, which enables you to reach the more inaccessible areas of the world. Outside the usual platform fare of exploration and boss fights, Jett Rocket also features some vehicles sections which make use of snowboards and jet-skis.

Title: Maestro! Green Groove
System: DSiWare
Price: 500 DSi Points

A combination of a music and platform game, Maestro! Green Groove requires you to jump, collect items and defeat enemies in time with the music to rack up points. In order to pass a level, gamers must achieve a grade of B+ at the very least. Boss fights also involve key timing with the music as you must match their melodies in order to progress.

Title: Extreme Hangman
System: DSiWare
Price: 200 DSi Points

Tweaking the usual letter guessing-game ever so slightly, Extreme Hangman has a stick figure at risk of more than a simple hanging - if you guess incorrectly too many times, you may be choked, shot at or even erased into nothingness. All of these misfortunes are spread out over 3 difficulty levels and 2000 possible words.

Title: Prehistorik Man
System: DSiWare
Price: 800 DSi Points

Prehistorik Man started its life as a SNES game, first released in 1993. This edition of the platformer sees you battling your way through a variety of enemies with different stone-age weapons and an assortment of vehicles, such as pogo sticks, hang gliders and rafts.

I had plans to buy Jett Rocket, but the Nintendo WiFi dongle refuses to work on my computer and Nintendo being the most innovative company ever haven't created software for Windows 7 and I really can't be **** googling for the next hour, reading hopeless forum thread after forum thread, changing setting around, editing files that may or may not screw up my computer, plugging and unplugging the dongle in the hope that it may work. Maybe I will buy it another day when I'm not easily agitated.

I would like to get Jett Rocket but I don't want to spend my current Wii Points atm as I've been saving them for Cave Story.

I may add more so I can get it.

Outside of this, there's no need to have a wireless network. It'd just be a pointless purchase at this point in time.

Is it because of your OS cause i remember that would not work for me using vista (Not sure about windows 7) use to work tho for xp.... Can't remember tho thought they would of fixed it by now...
Yeah it is. I started googling for a solution before deciding to try on a day when I feel in the mood to fix it. There seems to be quite a few people with the problem.

I know in these days a wireless router may be more commonplace, especially amongst gamers, but if you're offering a product - a product that is used to buy more products - then you should support it.

Cant recommend Ufouria enough! I was actually thinking about this game on the way to work this morning and how it really deserves a VC release. Awesome!
