De Blob: Underground details revealed

Wii News | Details spilled like paint.
THQ has announced a sequel to the 2008 Wii title de Blob, with this month's issue of Nintendo Power revealing some of the details.

The game, titled de Blob: Underground, will be developed by Australia's very own Blue Tongue Entertainment and will once again take place in Prisma City, pitting the player against the monochromatic forces.

The game is set to add some new features including 2D platforming sections, a robot sidekick and useful stage elements such as wind cannons, as well as a co-op mode. To add a touch of replayability, de Blob: Underground will also have a multiplayer versus mode, allowing up to four players to play together on a split screen.

A Nintendo DS version has also been announced which takes place in between the first and second games. It will be developed by Halfbrick Studios.

Both the Wii and DS versions are slated for a 2011 release.

Should be good if they fix the jumping mechanics of the original, not saying the original was a bad game, it's a great one but jumping with the flick of the Wiimote got rather annoying.
