The game, titled de Blob: Underground, will be developed by Australia's very own Blue Tongue Entertainment and will once again take place in Prisma City, pitting the player against the monochromatic forces.
The game is set to add some new features including 2D platforming sections, a robot sidekick and useful stage elements such as wind cannons, as well as a co-op mode. To add a touch of replayability, de Blob: Underground will also have a multiplayer versus mode, allowing up to four players to play together on a split screen.
A Nintendo DS version has also been announced which takes place in between the first and second games. It will be developed by Halfbrick Studios.
Both the Wii and DS versions are slated for a 2011 release.
