Nintendo store update - 02/10/09

Wii News | I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
It’s Friday again and you all know what that means – the PAL Nintendo Stores have been updated. This week, Nintendo has released the SNES classic Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and the WiiWare title “Aha! I Got It!” Escape Game on the Wii Shop Channel. The DSi Store is also treated to Art Style: Intersect.

Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is the second entry in the Super Star Wars trilogy. As you can guess by the title, the game is based on Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and is very similar the first Super Star Wars game. Later levels in the game, however, will give players the ability to use Force powers. The game will set you back 800 Wii points.

“Aha! I Got It!” Escape Game is yet another puzzle game for the WiiWare service. In the game players assume the role of Milo, a young boy who is celebrating his birthday. As a present, his father fills his room with puzzles and the only way to escape is to solve them. Using the Wii remote players must shake, push, twist and collect all manner of objects. The game will set you back 500 Wii points.

Art Style: Intersect is based on the Japan-exclusive bit Generations series. It is also arguably one of the more complicated Art Style games, and has players spinning triangular-shaped objects. The triangles will cause a disc to propel forward, and your goal is to keep it moving for as long as possible without crashing into a piston. The game will set you back 500 DSi points.

Hooray! It's great to see we weren't neglected by LucasArts.

EDIT: Too bad (for Nintendo) that I can't access the Wii Shop Channel anymore. Screw you Nintendo... I won't update and lose my homebrew capabilities!

I'm happy that they are adding Star Wars games. I really hope they bring out the N64 games like Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire and the rest. Those were my favourite Star Wars games on the N64, I so want to play them again.

That has to be the worst explanation of what was Digidrive, I have ever seen. I'd try and explain the faults, but here's a superior description:

Source">INTERSECT is a puzzle game with a difference, challenging your concentration and reflexes. Direct differently coloured cars through a crossroad so that only cars of the same colour occupy a road. This will generate fuel, which is ignited to propel the precious Core away from the approaching Spike. Earn high scores to win medals and even unlock new visual themes and music tracks.
Anyway, I love Digidrive, it's honestly one of my favourite GBA games (along with almost the entirety of the bit Gen games). So this is making a DSi start to sound like a very necessary purchase.

Jaws from the sounds of it, you're better off not updating, judging by the number of bricked (non-modded) Wiis.

Actually you can access the Shop Channel AND maintain your homebrew. Look into it.
