Nintendo store update - 25/09/09

Wii News | Sexy and yummy.
It’s Friday again and you all know what that means – the PAL Nintendo stores have been updated. This week, the Wii’s WiiWare library expands to welcome You, Me and the Cubes, Tales of Monkey Island: Episode 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay and Sexy Poker. Meanwhile, the Master System version of R-Type has hit the Virtual Console, the DSi Store is treated to Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam.

You, Me and the Cubes is an interesting little puzzle game that was designed by Kenhi Eno. The game has players drop people onto cube formations, which causes the platforms to tilt. Your aim is to place all the people on the formation without it tipping over. You, Me and the Cubes will set you back 1000 Wii points.

The Siege of Spinner Cay is the second episode in the Tales of Monkey Island series from Telltale Games. In this episode Guybrush is reunited with Elaine, but must cut the reunion short as he has to continue his search for La Esponja Grande. If you enjoyed the first episode then there’s no doubt you should download this one to continue the adventure. The Siege of Spinner Cay will set you back 1000 Wii points.

Sexy Poker has been a rather controversial title on the WiiWare service. The game is obviously a basic version of poker which has you trying to get anime women to strip down to their underwear. Bad news horny teenagers of Australia – the game isn’t actually available here due to the OFLC refusing its classification. European and New Zealand gamers, however, can live out their fantasies for 500 Wii points. UPDATE: Looks like Sexy Poker is available in Australia, get downloading horny teenagers!

R-Type was originally released in 1987, and has appeared on a variety of systems including the Commodore 64, Turbo Grafx, Game Boy, PC and mobile phones. The game is a side scrolling shooter and is often accredited for being the most recognisable title of the genre. For the record, yes, the Wii has had the Turbografx version since 2006, and the Master System version is generally considered to be inferior. Still, it costs the smaller price of 500 Wii points, so it might be worth picking up if you’re bored one afternoon and don’t want to spend too many points.

Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam is a port of the WiiWare game of the same name. The game is very similar to Cooking Mama in that you have to prepare and serve food for customers. Take too long serving the customer and they’ll likely leave the restaurant without paying. The game will set you back 500 DSi points.

Huh? That's strange, it doesn't appear on mine. Maybe your country is set to EU or NZ?

Yep... Sexy Poker is available in Aus too- it was rated M. Just go into new releases in Wiiware to find it. Not sure why you'd bother though... icon_wink.gif
