Resort sports sells 100,000

Wii News | Wiggle it, just a little bit.
The theory that successful gaming titles will produce successful sequels has proven true once again, with Nintendo Australia announcing that Wii Sports Resort has sold more than 100,000 copies in Australia after only four weeks. Some stores reported selling completely out of the title.

Nintendo of America has also announced that the title had sold more than 1 million copies in the United States, with sales of one million also being recorded Japan and Europe, taking global sales to more than 3 million.

The original Wii Sports is among the highest selling games of all time, which is hardly a shock since it was packaged with the Wii console in most countries.

Yep, brought it but beware the game does not support the standard wiimote, you need to buy the extra Wii MotionPlus units (1 comes with the game).

The game does become very expensive icon_sad.gif The game is lots of fun icon_smile.gif

FYI, JB have the Wii MotionPlus units for $27 each.

Well theres no excuses now. Its sold faster than Wiifit, its cheaper and there is also a plastic peripheral (that old chestnut).

LTD sales of Wii music are 3 million. This game is going to clear 15 i reckon.

Nintendo were a bit wary of M+ support, pretty much saying it's based on sales. Miyamoto mentioned it a couple of times in reference to the next Zelda, in that they want M+ support but exclusive support will depend on overall M+ sales.

Hence, no excuse now for Nintendo to shaft their own peripheral, one which adds considerable potential to the device.

Thanks Eat Children, What i meant was no excuses like "its bundled" or its a gimmick or its because of the plastic wheel, etc.

Wii music failed (with only 3 million in 1 yr) but the brand was not damaged.

3 million in sales is a failure? That would put it in the company of such failures as Zelda The Wind Walker, Fable and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Gee I hope I fail someday.

I guess that's fail in Nintendo terms maybe next to all the other Wii <insert new age idea here>

Exactly, Iwata himself said that it was not successful.

It's good that Nintendo were finally able to deliver the motion support they promised at launch...

Why? These kind of games are great when you have a few friends over, and with the included Wii Motion Plus it's sorta a no brainer to buy.

Well i guess some of you haven't actually tried sword fighting yet. "real games" lol

Go blow yourself. If there's anything wrecking gaming it's the pretentious, ego stroking self-labelled 'hardcore/real' gamers who refuse to let anybody enjoy anything they don't.

Gaming hasn't been ruined...just Nintendo.

Man i played a fair bit of wii resort.
Most of it is prety fun...but petty fun, the most angular translation i saw was in the frisbee,in the bowling no matter how much spin i put on the ball it always had a maximum value, and as far as im concernerned that can suck a blue vein cigar.Motion plus is a farce as far as I have seen so far.
But give them more money, more games will accept the technology to play better (ie: as it should)
Nintendo are the high class whores of this world , they dont give a shit other than the money intake.

Fuck you nintendo for releasing this biased piece of shit onto the public.
