Calling officially announced for the Wii

Wii News | Looks like you won't be calling the Ghostbusters for this spiritual adventure.
Several months ago, leaked footage of what appeared to be a new survival horror game hit the internet, and was then subsequently removed within hours. Not too much information was known about the game, other than it was tentatively titled The Calling. Well, Hudson Soft has officially announced that it will be publishing Calling exclusively on the Wii.

The game is based around the urban legend of the "Black Page" website, which features a simple counter that supposedly indicates the number of people who have died after visiting the page. Another myth suggests internet lurkers who stumble upon the site will fall into a mysterious space composed of the memories of the dead, essentially being the plane between life and death.

Players will begin their adventure in a dark room, and must investigate what is bringing the living to this strange and frightening world. You will have to utilise equipment including phones and flashlights to solve puzzles, communicate with and fight off spirits, and ultimately find an escape route. Levels will include memories of hospitals, schools and houses.

Calling is expected to be released in 2010. You can check out the first screenshots in the media panel below.

Wow. And I thought that the plot of The Ring was ludicrous. What next, "Attack of the Spammers"?

Mmmmm; another shameless survival horror or something decent. Time will tell I guess.

I'll be getting this game. I new there was a spooky Wii game on my radar that wasn't Fatal Frame 4. I just couldn't remember the name. Thanks heaps.
