Pre-E3 2009: LEGO Harry Potter officially revealed

Wii News | Coming in 2010.
Just days after LucasArts officially announced LEGO Indiana Jones 2, Waner Bros. Interactive has revealed gamers can also look forward to LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 in the near future.

As you might be able to guess from the title, the game will follow the events of the first four Harry Potter novels and films. Once again, it seems TT Games are keeping the game under wraps for the time being, but players can expect to play as LEGO versions of Harry, Ron and Hermione, as well as many other popular characters. Gameplay will see Harry and company attend lessons, cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks and complete many other tasks to earn house points. Featured levels will include Hogwarts castle, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest and the village of Hogsmeade.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is expected to be released in 2010. It is currently unannounced which platforms it will be appearing on. We have included an E3 teaser trailer below.

This better not just have one basic move per characters (shoot a magic bolt), and then a few different "classes" of characters.

Sigh, Lego. So many cooler original ideas they could go with, instead they get ten bazillion licensed titles.

Well if you think about it, although LEGO games aren't the best ever, they are pretty good considering the shoddy quality we've seen from other movie tie-ins. I liked the Star Wars ones, but Indy and Batman haven't really caught my attention. I will agree however, LEGO Rockband is just crazy, I mean WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!
