Nintendo Store update - 15/05/09

Wii News | Swords, pits and more illusions.
It's Friday again and you all know what that means - the Australian and European Nintendo stores have been updated. This week, the Mega Drive classic Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure and the WiiWare game Swords & Soldiers have been released on the Wii Shop Channel. Also released on the DSi Store is Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games.

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure was originally released on the Sega Mega Drive in 1995, and has also appeared on a several other platforms including the SNES, Game Boy Advance and PC. In the game players assume the role of Pitfall Harry Jr., the son of the original hero from the first Pitfall titles, who is on a mission to rescue his kidnapped father. Gameplay consists of generally straight forward platforming segments, with occasional puzzle elements such as activating switches to open doors. There is a total of 13 levels to play through, and as an added bonus, you can even play the original Atari 2600 Pitfall game by inputting a special code at the title screen. The game will set you back 800 Wii points.

Swords & Soldiers is the first real-time strategy game to appear on the WiiWare download service and was developed by Ronimo Games, the team responsible for the original PC version of de Blob. The game has three factions dubbed the Aztecs, Vikings and Imperial Chinese, who are all fighting to gain the powers of the gods. There is a single-player campaign for each faction, as well as a skirmish mode and split-screen multiplayer. The game will set you back 1000 Wii points.

Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games is the third entry in the Master of Illusion Express games. As its name suggests, this entry focuses on tricks involving shuffling. There are three tricks to learn including Birth Month, Future Vacations and Disappearing Card, the latter of which is also featured in the other games. We're not sure why Nintendo keep throwing Master of Illusion down our throats, but if you're interested it will set you back 200 DSi points.
