Originally released in 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog was the last game to be released on the Sega Master System in America. While technically a remake of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive, the Master System version is unique in its own right. There are new stages, new bosses and even different music playing in the background. Another major change is that the Chaos Emeralds are now hidden in the regular stages, while the Special Stages contain extra lives and continues for you to pick up. At 500 points, it’s a must for all Sonic fans.
